OFFICIAL MINUTES
The Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson, Iowa met in regular session at the Greene County Medical Center Education Room on February 9, 2024. President Bill Monroe called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM. Board members in attendance were Bill Raney, Tim Buenz, Denny Hammen, Karen Shannon, Clancy Clawsen, Larry Teeples, Mike Palmer, Sherry Palmer, Bill Steussy and Jim Teusch. Vern Foje was also present. Board members Hollie Roberts and Chad Butterfield were absent.
OFFICERS’ REPORTS
SECRETARY
A motion was made by Hammen and seconded by Teeples to approve the December board minutes as presented. Motion carried.
TREASURER
Raney shared the December and January Treasurer’s reports. S. Palmer made a motion to approve the report as presented. Stueussy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Leave of Absence: A motion to approve a leave of absence for Jack Fredrickson by S. Palmer, seconded by Clawson. Motion carried.

New Membership: Pauline (Donna) Allen’s application is being put on hold due to upcoming surgery and recovery.

NEW BUSINESS
Protocol for cancellation of meeting In the event of a regular meeting (Wednesday) needing to be cancelled, the president will communicate with Chad Butterfield by noon on Tuesday to let the kitchen staff know. Club Runner will be utilized to communicate with membership. Lori’s phone number will be shared with the president.
Funding Requests
Pickleball Court - A motion was made by S. Palmer to donate $500 to the Picklelball, motion seconded by Steussy. Motion carried.
GCHS After Prom - $100 donation and 20 $5 gift cards to Sierra Theater S. Palmer made a motion and seconded by M. Palmer, motion carried.
