This year our Half Marathon and 5 KM run will be on Sunday September 16, 2018.
Rotary Career Symposium 2018 April 16, 17 and 18. Volunteers wanted. To register on line just logon to the website. A separate e-mail was sent to everyone last week giving details about jobs that needed volunteers and time that volunteers are required.
Teddy Bear Picnic – Our Rotary Club will be taking care of the food again this year for the Teddy Bear Picnic. They picnic will take place on May 27, 2018 at Assiniboine Park. Volunteers will be needed on Saturday May 26th for setup and making the pancake patter. Help will also be needed on Sunday for the picnic. If anyone can help please contact Jeff Miller directly or you can contact Martin Coward and he will pass the information on to Jeff.
Barry Hartley is now a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Garry. He has been approved by our board. Please welcome him to our club the next time you see him.

The weekly accumulator draw this week was for $11.00. Hal Brownlee drew the Queen of Diamonds. Guest Speaker: Our guest speaker, Marcelo Cano, was introduced by Ron Miller. Marcelo spoke about what it was like coming to Canada from Argentina many years ago with very limited English. He did various jobs during his early career. He spent most of his career in Pest Control. He retired a few years back but after a couple of years decided that he wasn’t ready for retirement so he opened his own Pest Control business called Cano Pest Control. He likes the idea that he can now give his customers great service and does not have to follow guidelines sat out by larger companies. Don Fletcher thanked Marcelo for coming to talk to us.
