G E A R Next meeting: Monday July 15, 2019 at 12:15 Guest Speaker: TBA Hal Brownlee, our President, opened the meeting with the singing of O’Canada and Rotary Grace We were pleased to welcome George Dyck, Dianne Frith, Art Oakley, Jennifer Pazdor and John Announcement - This year the Half Marathon and 5KM run will be held on September 15, 2019. Half Marathon and 5KM Fun Run online registration for our Half Marathon and 5KM run is now open. Thanks to the efforts of Ron Miller and Ted Foreman we have three platinum partners this year, Pollard Foundation, Midtown Ford and Subterranean. We have commitment from sponsors of over $60,000 so far. Calm Air is also providing prizes the same as last year. First place prize for men and women – Two tickets each to Churchill, one night accommodation and two tours (Beluga Whales and Fort Churchill. Second place prize for men and women – Round trip pass for two people each to travel anywhere in Manitoba were Calm Air Flys.
- Invoices for the 2019 – 2020 membership fee have been sent out to all members. This invoice can be paid by Cash, Cheque or e-transfers. If paying by e-transfer the transfer must be sent to Martin Coward at martinjcoward@gmail..com

- Rotaract at U of M is having a FlapJack Fundraiser at Applebees Pembina, 2065 Pembina HWY on July 21st from 8 AM – 10 AM. Price is $10. And tickets can be bought at the door. Proceeds to Dadaap Refugee Camp, Kenya, through Human Kind International.

Sergeant-at-Arms: Happy Bucks: Nazir/Bill/Ron The weekly accumulator draw, today, was $33.00. Ann Oake drew the Ace of Spades Guest Speaker: Scot and Ann Oake were introduced by Ted Foreman. Scot brought us up-to-date on the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre. Apparently all of their hurdles have now been taken care of, the Centre is all set to go. They are planning a sod turning ceremony on August 24th. They will be starting their Capital Drive at this time with the goal of raising 16 million. This would be enough for the capital project plus operating cost for about three years. The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre will have 50 beds when open. Those who can pay will, those who can’t won’t. No one will be turned away because of their inability to pay. They will be having their second annual Gala on August 21st at Canad Inns Polo Park.
