Before our meeting today, members meet at Wildwood Park to dedicate a park bench for Ted Foreman to celebrate Ted's 60 years with our club. A person from the community paper was there so we should see a write-up in the paper this week. We also took some pictures. These will be circulated to our members when they are available.
A discussion was held regarding membership, our District Governor went over the results of a recent poll that they conducted with Rotary members in the Spring. All Rotary Clubs are having the same problem. The membership is aging and we are not getting enough membership in the 30 - 50 age range.
No meeting on October 10, 2022 because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The weekly accumulator was held and Lynn Foreman drew the Jack of Diamonds. Total for the draw was $116.00.
Speaker: Fred Wright Wright, our District Governor, attended our meeting on Monday October 3, 2022. He talked about the survey that was done in the Spring. According to the survey the main reason why members liked Rotary are Fellowship Networking, Local Impact, the Ideals of Rotary and Friendship. All clubs are have the same problem our members are aging and we are not getting enough new members in the 30-50 age range. Some ways that the district feels that will help with thus issue are; Celebrate our achievements, Engage the community, Find out what is important to the community. Think outside the box when it comes to recruiting new members.
Our District 5550 is now at 1046 members, Rotary International Says that a District should have at least 1200 members to be viable. If we cannot increase our membership there is a chance that some Districts could be combined.
