Our 2021 Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021. St. Vital Park has been booked. The Half Marathon Committee had a meeting on Monday and things are looking better with regards to COVID and the feeling is that we will be able to run our Half Marathon this year. We will need lots of volunteers this year because the thinking is that the schools will not want their students to participate this year because of COVID. The Half Marathon Committee has asked that each member try and provide a few volunteers. Yourself, family or friends ETC.
We will also need sponsors, if you can help or know someone that could donate please let Ron Miller Know.
RYLA has extended the registration for this year to July 15th. RYLA this year is for people between the ages or 15 to 25 years. We would like to send four people this year. So far we have two. If anyone knows of anyone who might be interested please let Jeff Miller know directly. RYLA will be online this year.
A Canadian Rotarian donated 1 million dollars to Polio Plus. This will really help to achieve their goal this year of $50 million. Current Polio Plus is short of their goal.

Speaker: Barry Hartley did his craft talk. Barry was borned in Winnipeg and attended school at Vincent Massey. Barry went to Red River Community College and received his Business Admin. Barry worked a various jobs in Winnipeg and in 1987 Barry and Family moved to Brandon, where he ran his own business. He sold his business in 2008 and then worked for a couple of banks before moving back to Winnipeg. He is currently working with Thomas Design. Don is also a commissioner for WBC and is involved in appeals for WBC. Don and his wife, Karen, love to travel and have been to several countries. Don said one of the best things he likes about travelling is the people that he travels with. Don joined Rotary in Brandon in 1990 and was president of the club a couple of times. Don really enjoyed the fund raising that he has been involved with sure as Book Sale, Lotteries, BBQ etc.
