G E A R Next ZOOM meeting: Monday August 24, 2020 at Noon Guest Speaker: TBA We were pleased to welcome Joanne Gordon Hal Brownlee, our President, arranged for a Zoom meeting. Thanks to all those who participated. Some members have not paid their membership, these Memberships are now due. The membership invoice can be paid by E- Transfer by sending an email to martinjcoward@gmail.com If you decide to pay by cheque, please mail the cheque to the address on the invoice The decision has been made to cancel our Half Marathon & 5 KM run for 2020 because of COVID – 19. Every effort was made to see if we could safely run the Half Marathon & 5KM but it was not possible with the restrictions because of COVID-19. We spent $950 in our efforts to have the 2020 Half Marathon and 5Km run. Rotary International will be hosting an on line summit on September 22, 2020. If you would to participate, you can logon on to Rotary International – My Rotary for details and to register. My Rotary also has videos for the district on various topic that anyone can access. It was suggested the at the Board for Rotary Club of Fort Garry send a letter to David Hood thanking him and his crew for the great job they did in keeping COVID-19 out of Rotary Villa. The club is looking for ideas from the members has to what our club can do to help out within the community. Any Ideas on how to raise money for our club would also be appreciated. Ideas can be discussed at our next meeting or you can send them directly to Hal Brownlee. We would like to start up with our speakers again. If outside speakers are not available maybe some members would like to give a “Craft” talk. Sergeant-at-Arms: Happy Bucks: The weekly accumulator draw, suspended until we can have live meetings.
