Barry Hartley, our President, presided over today’s meeting. Thanks to all who attended.
Talks continue weekly about our plan for a membership drive in May/June and what we need to do to make this drive successful. Several members are working on different aspect of our membership drive with the target of the end of April to get everything completed.
Our membership committee met before our regular meeting. Several tasks were completed. Final touches were made to the brochure – outlining what Rotary is what we have done. Along with invite for people to have lunch with us and hopefully become a member. The membership committee will also meet on Monday April 18th at 11 AM at Thomas Design.
The club has decided that we will hire a webmaster to update our various websites and put a procedural in place so that these websites can be updated on a regular basis. We also want to explore other social media with the idea of participating on most social media
We would like all members to submit to Martin Coward a list of three or more Business/people whom we can approach for membership. For our membership drive to be successful we need all members to participate. Please provide name, address, phone number, email address and contact person.
Kathy Cano made a motion that we send another student to Adventures in Citizenship this year – Adventures in Citizenship will be virtual again this year. Second by Ron Miller. Carried.
No meeting on Monday April 18th because of Easter Monday.
Our club will be 60 years old on May 14, 2022. Initial discussions were held about planning a 60th anniversary on Tuesday June 14th. This will also coincide with Ted’s 60 anniversary as a member of our club.
Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones, will be visiting Winnipeg in early July. A Committee is being put together by all of the Winnipeg Rotary clubs to determine what we will do during Jennifer’s visit. More updates will be provided as they become available.
