Scott is president of the World Council of Optometry and just got back from their meeting in Dubai. One of the goals of this organization is to promote access to eye care worldwide. They would like to see this as a basic human right. Rotary has also become involved by signing a memorandum of understanding with IAPB. All the operating details have not been worked out but it appears that we will be able to request grants from Rotary International for eye related programs. Marcel Vermette thanked Scott for speaking with us.
