This year our Half Marathon and 5 KM run will be on Sunday September 16, 2018.
Teddy Bear Picnic will be held on Sunday May 27, 2018. Our club will be responsible for the food again this year. Volunteers will be needed.

The weekly accumulator draw this week was for $223.00. Joanne Gordon drew the Queen of Spades and won the jackpot.
Guest Speaker: Ron Miller introduced our Guest Speaker, Dr. Scott Mundle. Scott is an Optometrist at Henderson Vision Centre. Dr. Mundle has been involved with the Canadian Association of Optometrists since 1986. He is currently the President of the World Council of Optometry. Scott talked about Age Related Macular degeneration. Some symptoms are Central Blind Spots, Loss of Contrast and Reduced central Vision. He encourage people to get regular eye check-ups and see a doctor immediately if you start having problems with their eyes. There are some things that we can do such as Taking Omega 3, however, if taking Omega 3 you should ensure that it has DHA and EPA. Eating fish also helps, but the fish that you eat should be wild not farmed. You can also take Lutein and Zeaxanithin. Some people take Flax Oil, he said that this didn’t work. Roger Gadd thanked Dr. Mundle for taking the time to come and talk to us about this subject.
