G E A R Next meeting: Monday March 18, 2019 at 12:15 Guest Speaker: TBA Hal Brownlee, our President, opened the meeting with the signing of O’Canada and Rotary Grace. We were pleased to welcome Peter Tonge from Charleswood Club Announcement - Dr. Neil Craton will be our speaker on
- April 29th - Dr. Neil Craton, Doctor for Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He also volunteers at Siloam Mission. He will talk about the Wisdom from the Homeless. He has written a book about this with all profits going to Siloam Mission.
Half Marathon and 5KM Fun Run - Our 8th Half Marathon and 5Km run will be held on September 15th. Preparations are started, the following has already been booked:
- This is Pat’s last year has Race Chair, The club thanked Pat for doing such a great job as Chair over the pass years. Steve Gallagher and Jeff Miller will be co-chairs next year and they will work closely with Pat this year to ensure a smooth transition next year. Online registration for our Half Marathon and 5KM run is now open.
- It was decided that for this year our donation from our run will be split between Bruce Oak Foundation (80%) and Knowles Centre (20%).
- Dorothy Taylor and Barry Hartley has agreed to be on the Half Marathon & 5KM run planning committee.
- We are still looking for a major sponsor for 2019
- Our District Conference will be held in Winnipeg this year at Cana Inns Polo Park on May 3rd to 5th. Peter Tonge from the Charleswood Club wanted everyone to know that you can register on line. If you went to everything the cost would be $250.00 but you can pick and choose, costs would reflect the number of events that you attend. Peter would like it that if you plan on attending that you register as soon as possible.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a guest. Or you can order a table, each table will seat eight people. We have already have four table sold. District Conference May 3rd to 5th. A separate e-mail has been sent out so you can see the list of speakers and register to attend if you would like to do so.
