We were pleased to welcome
Barry Hartley, our President ran the Zoom meeting today. Thanks to all who attended.
Our February 14, 2022, meeting will be held via Zoom. We are planning on going back to in person meetings on February 28th. Just waiting for confirmation from the hotel.
A Rotary Club brochure has been sent to all members. It will need to be updated so we can use it for our membership drive that we will be having in May. Please review and advise us of any changes by February 28th. You can send your responses to Barry Hartley or to Martin Coward,
Don Fletcher sent us a draft plan for our membership drive last week, I forward it on to the membership. Please review and send any changes or suggestions to Don Fletcher or Martin Coward by February 28th. We would really like everyone’s participation so please send us your comments.
The board has approved for Barry Hartley to go to PETS this year. It will take place March 18 - 20th in Russel. Cost will be around $615.00.
We had Owoola Bello attend our meeting today. She just immigrated from Nigeria. She is the past president of her club if Nigeria. Owoola is thinking of joining our Rotary Club.
Our Next board meeting will be in person on February 28th at 11 AM at The Holiday Inn.
Rotary is looking for a Rotary Peace Fellowship candidate if you know of anyone please let Barry Hartley know directly. If you want more information you can go to Rotary.org
Half Marathon will be held on September 18th this year.
Barry was having problems with breaking up today. Barry will try and get this fixed by next week. The club has offered to help with any costs involved.
East AM Rotary’s Comedy Night is April 1, 2022 at the Met. The plan is to sell both live and virtual tickets. Any tickets sold our club would receive half of the price of the ticket. I will pass on information about ticket price and how to but them as soon as I receive this information
Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones, will be visiting Winnipeg in early July. A Committee is being put together by all of the Winnipeg Rotary clubs to determine what we will do during Jennifer’s visit. Don Fletcher will be attending a meeting on February 14th. He will provide us with am update after this meeting.
Our sister club in Detroit Lakes will be celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. We will be investigating to see if our Winnipeg clubs can do something with the Detroit lakes club during the spring/summer. Maybe a meeting at the International Peace Gardens
