G E A R Next meeting: Monday February 4, 2019 at 12:15 Guest Speaker: TBA Ron Miller, opened the meeting with the signing of O’Canada and Rotary Grace. We were pleased to welcome Evelyn, Joy and Tony. Announcements - Rotary will sponsor the Career Symposium at the Convention Centre on March 11th -13th. Volunteers are required, a separate e-mail was sent out with information on how you can sign up to Volunteer.
- Ted Forman advises that Rob Coughlin as agreed to Contribute $2,000.00 to our Half Marathon for three years starting with our 2019 Half Marathon.

- Monday Feb. 11th – Nancy Finlayson – Nancy will talk about L’Arche Homes (homes for older adults living in the community).
- Monday Feb 25th – Steve Neufeld – CEO 0f Niverville Heritage Centre – Topic to be determined.
- March or April – Dr. Neil Craton, Doctor for Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He also volunteers at Siloam Mission. He will talk about the Wisdom from the Homeless. He has written a book about this with all profits going to Siloam Mission. We are hoping to make this a large lunch event.

Guest Speaker: Don Fletcher, Don was introduced by Dorothy Taylor. Don spoke about his recent trip to China with the Bethune Bai Quiery Canadian Alliance. Dr. Bethune is well known in China for the work that he did there. Norman Bethune was a Stretcher Bearer in the army, he fought with the Chinese Army trying to remove Japan from China. There are several statues of him in China. The group gave lectures and donations to various schools and hospitals while they were in China.
