  Hal Brownlee, our President, opened the meeting with the singing of O’Canada and Rotary Grace
 We were pleased to welcome everyone who came out to hear Dr. Neil Craton speak
 Announcement        
  •   Half Marathon and 5KM Fun Run online registration for our Half Marathon and 5KM run is now open. It was decided that for this year our donation from our run will be split between Bruce Oak Foundation (80%) and Knowles Centre (20%)
  •  Our District Conference will be held in Winnipeg this year at Cana Inns Polo Park on May 3rd to 5th,  can register on line. If you went to everything the cost would be $250.00 but you can pick and choose, costs would reflect the number of events that you attend. The District Learning Assembly has been integrated into the District Conference and will be held on Thursday May 2, 2019 at Canad Inns – Polo Park from 1 pm to 4 pm. There is no charge for registration for those registered for the District Conference but you must register for the Assembly as well. For those just attending the Assemble there will be a small charge.
  • Monday May 13, 2019 we will be having our sponsorship luncheon. I will send out a separate e-mail before the weekend to see who will be attending because we will have to guarantee numbers for this lunch.
  • Monday May 6, 2019 at11 A.M. will be our next board meeting.
  • Teddy Bear Picnic will be on Sunday May 26th we will be cooking the food again this year. We will need volunteers for the setup on Saturday May 25th and on Sunday May 26th for cooking etc.

The weekly accumulator draw, today, was $65.00. Nancy Finlayson drew the King of Spades. No draw on Monday April 29th.
 
Guest Speaker:  Our guest speaker, Dr. Neil Craton, was introduced by Don Fletcher. Dr. Craton             spoke mostly about the time that he has spent volunteering at Siloam mission. He spoke about the homeless people that he has connected with and how much they have enriched his life. Dr. Craton said that about 90% of the homeless people have mental health issues and 10% substance use disorder. He wrote a book called “Wisdom from the Homeless” he is donating some of the proceeds to Siloam Mission. He also read from his book. Our club donated $600 to Siloam Mission. Included in this $600 was the extra five dollars per person that was charged for the lunch. Shelley Killeen thanked Dr. Craton for coming to speak with us.

Our sponsorship luncheon will be held on Monday May 13, 2019
Teddy Bear Picnic will be held on Sunday May 26th. Volunteers will be need for Saturday May 25th for setup and on Sunday May 26th.
