This year our Half Marathon and 5 KM run will be on Sunday September 16, 2018. The donation from Calm Air, Two tickets to Churchill, will be given to the 1st finishers for men and women in the Half Marathon. Second place finishers for both Male and Female will received two tickets anywhere Calm Air flies.
Teddy Bear Picnic – Our Rotary Club will be taking care of the food again this year for the Teddy Bear Picnic. They picnic will take place on May 27, 2018 at Assiniboine Park. Volunteers will be needed on Sunday May 27th for the Teddy Bear picnic. We have enough volunteers for Saturday May 26rd, thanks to all who volunteered. If anyone can help on Sunday, please contact Jeff Miller directly or you can contact Martin Coward and he will pass the information on to Jeff.
The Board has decided that for The Half Marathon and 5 KM run for 2018 we will support Knowles Centre and The Bruce Oake Foundation 50/50
On Monday May 14, 2018 we will be having our sponsorship appreciation lunch. All members are encourage to attend and bring a guest. Lunch will be $20 for each member and guest. A separate email was sent last week, because we need confirmation of attendees to ensure that we have space and meals for everyone. On May 14th our lunch will be in the Frontier Ballroom.
On June 4, 2018 we will be having a pizza lunch at Fort Richmond Collegiate, 99 Killarney Ave, Winnipeg, MB. Their Interact club has invited us, they would like to find out move about Rotary, where we get our money from and how we support our various charities. We also want to thank the many volunteers from Fort Richmond Collegiate who helped with the Half Marathon and 5 KM run.
Sagehill Stables, 4180 Waverley Street, WPG will be having a Family Fun Day on June 24th from 11 AM to 3PM.They will have shows, Fairy Tale Characters Mermaid, Clowns, Pony Rides and so much more cost $15.00 per person, children under 2 Free. Reserve your Tickets by calling 204-981-8555.
Our Rotary District 5550 has asked if we would support an effort for Humboldt. Steve will be contacting them to see what ideas they have, our club has agreed to participate.
We will make David Hood an Honorary member of our Rotary Club at our meeting on May 14, 2017.
