Our 2021 Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021. St. Vital Park has been booked

 

Rotary Adventures in Citizenship will resume in 2021 but it will be virtual. Rotary Adventures in Citizenship will take place May 1 – 5. Registration opens to clubs and students on March 8^th. Registration closes on March 22^nd at 8 PM EST. Payment is due between March 8^th & March 22^nd. Students must be between 16 and 18 when the event starts on May 1st. For this year only they have raised the age limit to 19

 

Speaker Series – will continue on April 19^th when Russ Hood will do his craft talk.

 

 

East AM Rotary Club will be having a virtual comedy night on April 29, 2021. Cost $20.00 per ticket, with 50% of the value of the ticket will staying with our club if we sold the ticket. More information will be made available in the weeks ahead.

Speaker: Nazir Ahmad did his craft talk today. He spoke briefly about coming to Canada as a young Lad and then changing his profession. Nazir and his family moved to Flin Flon in 1971 and after becoming a CA he stayed in Flin Flon and in a couple of years became a partner in the firm that he worked for. He was very please with the way the he and his family was accepted in Flin Flon. He stayed in Flin Flon until he retired. Nazir became very involved in the community and was also the Mayor of Flin Flon. Nazir found it very rewarding working will all people of the north and really enjoyed his time in Flin Flon. Nazir belong to the Rotary Club in Flin Flon and when he moved to Winnipeg he joined our club in 2007. He has held several positions Within the Rotary Clubs as well as positions with Rotary International. He has described his time with Rotary as very awarding.

District Conference is scheduled for Melford May 14-15 2021.The theme for this years conference is The Family of Rotary. This conference has been moved to an online conference. More information will be passed on as soon as we receive them

 

Rotary International Convention will be virtual this year and will be held June 12^th to 16^th. More Information will be forthcoming as they become available.

 

Next Zoom Meeting will be March 22, 2021 at Noon.
