Foundation funding in action

Since its inception in 2007, the Rotary Club of Charleswood Charity Foundation Inc. has provided financial support to a variety of charitable purposes including Polio Plus (the eradication of polio), Ripple Effect (Guatemala schools and scholarships), Shelter Box (disaster response), WestGrove School (literacy, breakfast program and family support),  Assiniboine Forest (Stewards of the Forest with the City's Green Team), STARS. (Air Ambulance Service) and Scholarships (high school students in their final year of study).

Why Lend Your Support? This is a Foundation that supports local and international causes identified by the Rotary Club of Winnipeg, Charleswood. We raise funds in a variety of ways including our annual Lobster Night, Green Space Golf tournament, and personal/endowment donations. Because the Foundation is a registered charity, donors receive a charitable tax receipt.  BN: 848472791RR0001

Allocated of Donations

Most donations are made directly to the Rotary Club of Charleswood Charity Foundation Inc. to the  support community or international projects as identified by the Rotary Club of Winnipeg, Charleswood. Alternatively, donors are able to  is to allocate their donation to the Assiniboine Forest and Bridge of Hope Ukraine.

When donating online (see below), there is a dropdown menu allowing donors to identify a general or allocated donation.  Donations by mail or e-transfer should indicate if the donor is making a general or allocated donation. 

Assiniboine Forest - The Assiniboine forest is our largest project and as stewards of the forest, we are in pursuit of a multi year project to enhance and protect the Forest. We forecast the total project will be approximately $2 million. We have raised approx. $350.000.00 to date.  (www.assiniboineforest.ca)
 
Bridge of Hope Ukraine ProjectThe Rotary Club of Winnipeg – Charleswood supports Ukrainian Refugees in Winnipeg (and nearby) through the Bridge of Hope Ukraine – Family Support Project.  All funds raised is to help Ukrainian Refugee families. Over 400 families chose new/gently used furniture and household items through regular furniture drives. This part of the project was completed in early 2025.
