I am proud to say that compared to 2018, we had triple the number of Rotarians and their guests march in the Calgary Pride Parade on August 31st!
The value of diversity, equity and inclusion in our communities is increasing with more attendees than ever showing up in support.

In January 2019 Rotary International's announced it's policy for diversity, equity and inclusion statement for Rotary as follows:

As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Rotary will cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture in which people from underrepresented groups have greater opportunities to participate as members and leaders.

Rotary International also updated its policy on adult harassment and requested the general secretary to provide training resources to club and district leaders regarding maintaining harassment-free environments at Rotary meetings, events, and activities.

I truly believe that through education, there comes understanding and acceptance. Kindly take your Rotary journey through adherence to Rotary's 4-Way test and the Rotarian's Code of Conduct.

In Rotary Spirit,

DG Christine Rendell
