Club Meeting - Ukrainians settling in Cochrane

Chantal Barber and Fleeha Ahmad will be our guest speakers.

Chantal is a local volunteer working to assist Ukrainians arriving in Cochrane and area. Chantal will describe the process of their arrival from Ukraine, how to connect them with the host families, and more.

Fleeha is Settlement Counselor / Program Coordinator with Rocky View Immigrant Services, which is a rural project of Calgary Catholic Immigration Society. She also chairs the Advisory Board with Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee. Fleeha will describe the process once the families have arrived. She does the initial assessment and connects the clients with local agencies and resources.

There are currently about 75 Ukrainian families that have settled in Cochrane and area, with more arriving.
