Dear fellow Rotarians and Guests,

December has been dedicated to Disease Prevention and Treatment Month.  The Eradication of Polio has been the area of focus for several years and continues to be the main area of concentration.  However, they have not turned a blind eye to the many other diseases that affect our world population.  Here are two such links:

They set up health camps and training facilities in undeveloped countries and in communities struggling with HIV/AIDS and malaria. They also design and build the infrastructure for doctors, nurses, governments, and partners to reach the one in six people in the world who can't afford to pay for health care.

Disease prevention and treatment takes on many forms, from supporting studies to helping immunize people to improving drinking water and the sanitation infrastructure. The world relies on Rotary to tackle these global challenges, and to set an example for others to follow.

We welcome each and every one to continue to assist in Disease Prevention and Treatment.

As a reminder, you are all invited to join us on the following Saturday mornings:
December 5 – Discussion of a water project in Haiti by RC of Soldotna
December 12 – Club Assembly
Stories
If you have never watched an inspiring video before, you must really not miss this one. If you have ever wondered why you are a Rotarian, this will seal it for you. It is an enlightening and entertaining time with one of our greats, Past RI President Cliff Dochterman. Many of us have been club presidents before, we know what he's feeling.,  Please give it your full attention..
For those of you who missed the Wednesday showing of the Maggie Doyne story, go back to our bulletin last week and review the video. And for those who want more, here are two earlier interviews with her which will enthrall you.  While you're there (on YouTube) you might wish to see some of her others which are suggested there. But please do check these out:

WHAT IS THE ANNUAL FUND

ANNUAL FUND is the primary source of funding for all Foundation activities. Our annual contributions help Rotary Clubs take action to create positive change in communities at home and around the world.  Our gift helps strengthen peace efforts, provide clean water and sanitation, support education, grow local economies, save mothers and children and fight disease.
Through our annual Sustaining Member contributions of $100 or more, the Rotary E-Club of the Caribbean, 7020 has been a 100% EREY contributor since we were chartered in 2013.  Let us continue to support The Rotary Foundation (TRF) through our annual donations.  We have been and continue to “Be a gift to the World”.
