CANCELLED Volunteering at the Calgary Food Bank

As you may know we have two off-site events scheduled for March-April;

• Volunteering at the Food Bank on March 31st – Since the Food Bank is now officially closed while the management and operational teams develop their strategy on how to supply food to their clients safely and yet keep the clients, volunteers and safe throughout the Covid 19 challenge. Prior to this any volunteer older than 65 was asked to cancel their shifts until at least April 6^th. This rule also affected 4 of us out of 10 who signed up to volunteer on the 31^st
• Volunteering at the Mustard Seed on April 15^th - I received an email today from the Mustard Seed indicating that they have decided “to halt all volunteering for the foreseeable future”.

Although this is disappointing to many of us in the Club, it is the right decision as we play our community role in managing this virus. Thanks to those who have already registered for one rf both of these events. They will be removed from our Clubrunner web site, however, I trust there will be future opportunities to serve in the not too distant future.
