If I wanted a better future for myself and my new family, I had to persevere.”

I was born and raised in India. After completing a Bachelors in Education and Cosmetology, I came to Canada in 1992. Starting a new life in a new country was very difficult, but I knew that if I wanted a better future for myself and my new family, I had to persevere.

I decided to go back to Cosmetology school. To help support my family, I worked in a daycare driving a bus, cleaning hotel rooms and washing dishes. I did whatever I had to do to one day open my first spa which I finally achieved in 2001 from my basement. Within a few years of opening my first location, I opened a second spa in 2002 in the strip mall and after five years of running sold that spa and promised myself to start something different other then spa business. But destiny had something else planned for me. I ended up opening another high end successful spa.

I found that with the success of my business, there was a real need for a different approach to educating those interested in my industry. My spa experience coupled with my degree in massage therapy and education opened the doors for me to establish the National Institute of Wellness & Esthetics now knowns as NIWE ACADEMY which has seen tremendous growth in just the past five years where we have gone from only a few courses to fully accredited programs by the government of Alberta.

With my family fully vested in the organization, I believes my journey has now come to full circle.
