It is hard to believe but we are already into month five of the Rotary year. The only problem may be that the LCD projector seems to dislike Bill Avery’s MAC laptop. Bill Avery gets credit for the best sports joke of the week, “ Would the lady who dropped off the 6 kids at Maple Leaf Gardens please pick them up. They are beating the Leafs 3-1.
Ken King, President and CEO of the Calgary Flames Limited Partnership
By Doug MacDonald
We welcomed long-time club member Ken King, President of Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC). Over his year’s in Rotary, we’ve learned that Ken is an informative, entertaining and thought provoking speaker. As usual, Ken didn’t disappoint us.
Many refugees from Syria are facing the prospect of a cold winter in Jordan in refugee camps. Ghada Alatrash and Barbra Young are collecting winter jackets, boots, blankets and socks to be sent to the Refugees to help them stay warm. If you have any you can contribute, please either bring them to a Rotary lunch or call Ghada (587-581-3730) or Barb Young (403-286-7228) to arrange an alternative delivery point.
