Signature Legacy Proposal - Community Hubs Initiative

On Tuesday, December 6th, Rotarians will vote on whether to invest $2 Million to become a Founding Partner of the Community Hubs initiative. As a Founding Partner, Rotary will join United Way, The City of Calgary, community residents and dozens of local agencies and businesses to build, fund, and activate six Community Hubs across our city.

Rotary will contribute volunteers, decision making, programming, and financial resources to this $21 Million project. This investment will create a legacy which will make a difference in the lives of nearly 200,000 Calgarians who live in the six priority neighborhoods: Bowness, Greater Forest Lawn, Sunalta, Vista Heights, North of McKnight, and Village Square.

Community Hubs are a key recommendation of Enough for All, Calgary's citywide poverty reduction strategy and represent an innovative way of reducing poverty through building community.
