It is time for our annual Rotary Auction.  Saturday, March 1, 2014 the 29th Annual Auction will be held beginning at 8:30 a. m.  until 12:30 p. m.  Below is a list of the items donated by local businesses and individuals.  Thank you to all of you who help make this event successful.

McComb Rotary is co-sponsoring the The Pike County Arts Council 2013 Literary Competition. The following categories will be open for submissions beginning February 1, 2013 and continuing through March 1, 2013. The winners will be announced in a program and ceremony beginning at 6:00 PM, April 9, 2013 at the State Theater in McComb. Noted New Orleans novelist Chris Wiltz will be the keynote speaker.

Purpose: To promote the art of communication in our community through literature, touching both youth and adults across the socio-economic spectrum.

This is a competitive, juried event in three categories: Poetry, essay and short story submissions in three age categories, Youth (5th thru 8th grades), High School (9th thru 12th grades) and Adults, including college students.

All essay submissions should address this year's Rotary theme, "Peace Through Service"

Full details and submission guidelines will be posted, soon.

Rotary members of the McComb club know how important it is to learn to read in the third grade and believe a personal dictionary will be a great help.  That is why the club has donated a dictionary to every third grade student in Pike County.  We hope parents will ecourage their child to "look it up" when they need to know how to spell, how to pronounce, or what a word means.  Rotarians Jared Mellinger and Dr. Ralph Brock were two of the participating Rotarians at North Pike Elementary School in Mrs. Etheridge's third grade class.  Students pictured below are  left to right,  Cedric Ralph, Collin Spring, Peyton Slonaker, and Desmon Weathersby.
