How the Universe was Discovered

The Greeks had a very simple view of the cosmos as fixed
and wandering stars circling the unmoving Earth. Then in
the 1600s the newly invented telescopes showed that the
“wandering stars” were planets that circled the Sun. but it
was still a small Universe within our Galaxy. But in the 1920s
the modern bigger Universe was discovered. We will tell
that story and then using the stunning images from the
Hubble space telescope we will view what was discovered.
