Junior Achievement Program

John M. Jelavich is the President and Chief Executive Officer of River Valley Community Bank.  John is a native of Yuba City and graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Finance.  After college, John spent 22 years with The PMI Group, a provider of credit enhancement to facilitate mortgage lending and securitization.  At PMI, he served in numerous senior level finance, operations, credit risk management and loss mitigation capacities.  In July 2010, John and his family relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area back to Yuba City where he joined the Bank.  John earned his graduate banking degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, University of Colorado, Boulder, in July 2012.

Outside of the Bank, John currently sits on the Boards of Hands of Hope, the Twin Rivers Charter School and has been actively involved in the formation of the Junior Achievement of Yuba/Sutter Advisory Committee and bringing the JA program to our community.  John and his wife Jennifer have three boys – Joey (12) and Ryan (14) who attend Butte Vista School and Nate (16) who attends Yuba City High School.
