Melvin Adams has been an NCAA All-American basketball player, professional basketball competitor and member of the

world famous Harlem Globetrotters.Born and raised in the ghetto of Houston Texas,

Melvin had to overcome extremely negative circumstances to achieve his dream of playing professional basketball.

With the constant pressure of financial burdens and surrounded by hopeless situations,

he turned to sports, where hard work and endless practicing kept him out of trouble

Melvin graduated from San Jose Christian College where he was a two-time NCAA III

All-American basketball player. He remains the all-time scoring, assists and steals

leader in the school’s history. On the Harlem Globetrotters, Melvin was named “Mr.

Globetrotter” numerous times, an annual award presented to the teammate who most exemplifies the

excitement and energy associated with the Harlem Globetrotters
