Once again the Orangevale Rotary Club was happy to award $6000 in scholarships to five very worthy seniors at Casa Roble and Bella Vista High Schools. Honored at Bella Vista’s Senior Awards Night were Claire Williams ($1000 Laird Smith Community Service Scholarship) and Courtney Reimche ($1500 Academic Scholarship). Three outstanding seniors were awarded scholarships at Casa Roble’s Senior Awards Night: Chris Seeley ($1000 Laird Smith Community Service Scholarship), Nadia Choban ($1500 Academic Scholarship) and Aleksey Navrotskiy ($1000 ROP Scholarship).

All 5 graduates were invited to attend an Orangevale Rotary breakfast meeting this summer to meet the very generous Orangevale Rotarians who have invested in their bright futures. Four out of five students accompanied by proud parents have accepted the invitation, giving them an opportunity to thank the Orangevale Rotary Club and talk about their educational plans and goals. Casa graduate Chris Seeley will be attending UC Berkley and majoring in Peace and Conflict Studies. Nadia Choban will be studying History at CSUS. Aleksey Navrotskiy will be pursuing a career in nursing at Sierra College. Bella Vista graduate Claire Williams will be attending UC Santa Barbara and majoring in Political Science. Courtney Reimche will be studying Molecular Biology at UCLA.

Upon meeting the scholarship recipients and listening to their very optimistic and exciting plans, Orangevale Rotary confirmed once again that the investment in the future of such outstanding young people is certainly money well spent!
