My parents met in the grocery business in 1976: Watt Ave & La Rivera Drive working for Lucky's. I joke with them that I was conceived around the time of the "Miracle on Ice" Hockey team beating the Russians in the Olympics at Lake Placid, NY in 1980. Troy Timothy Drennon born 11/03/1980 at 12:35 AM weighing in at 10 pounds 13 ounces and 22 inches long. Born two weeks late at old American River Hospital in Carmichael. Delivered by Dr. Michaels in his Hawaiian Shirt. My grandpa Dede passed out after the unwrapped the ambilocal cord around my neck twice. I'm a 6 generation Californian on my moms and 5th on my dad's side and I'm a 4th generation Sacramentan on my mom's side. My mom's Grandpa: Frago was born in Sacramento. I don't know much about him since he died when my mom was 1 or 2 and my grandma Dede passed when I was in 7th grade. I had a great relationship with my Grandpa: "Papa." We were very close. I stayed with him all the time when I was out of school in the summers, we would go to breakfast, check on his shopping centers then go to the batting cages or work on his trucks. It was great fun as a young boy. Papa ran Airsweep commercial sweeping, INC. from 1969- 2007, he sold it when he was 88 years old! Sweeping commercial parking lots. I went to John Holst Elementary off Banister in Fair Oaks, Barrett Middle School, Del Campo High School, and then off the American River College. I played Basketball, Baseball and my senior year of Football. I was all League with a school record at the time of 55 catches. Co-Captain on the Basketball team. I met Erin at Donner Lake over the July 4th holiday camping with some friends back in 2007. I was running a construction business and she was going to Chico State studying Business and marketing with a minor in partying. We started dating and then got engage in South Lake Tahoe in Nov of 2009 and Married in Lodi at Wine & Roses on May 14th, 2011. We have 2 healthy young children: Emily Mae Drennon, 8 going on 13, and James Troy Drennon 5 almost 6. When my Papa was in hospice and Erin and I found out we were pregnant with #2 we told him if it's a boy, we will name him after you, he said you don’t have to do that, all humble. In 2012 I was recruited by my Financial Advisor Peter Abi-Nader to join Edward Jones. It has been the best decision of my life. I've been able to help many people reach their financial goals and it has changed our families lives as well. Erin ended up joining the firm in 2018. In 2015 I proudly joined rotary around the same time as Dick Bauer, to give back to the locale where I was born and raised. I love doing the work projects and the get togethers. Erin and I now live in Folsom near our Edward Jones Branches. We've been married 10 years, coming up on number 11 this May. The best is yet to come. |
