***Special Location*** Southern Hotel
***Special location*** to celebrate Twelfth Night and the official start of the Carnival Season, we are meeting at the Club's original gathering place, the Southern Hotel. Come early as we will start the meeting with a guided tour of the refurbished Southern Hotel at 11:45. Our speaker will be the Historian of the Krewe of Olympia to tell tales of carnivals past and the special events commemorating the Krewe of Olympia's 50th year of rolling through downtown Covington.
Bring your personal stories about Mardi Gras and be prepared to share them Joara, our exchange student, so she is prepared for what's coming! PURPLE, GREEN, AND GOLD attire HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- if you have a spare Mardi Gras shirt (adult size small), bring one for Joara!
Note that we are also going to hold a special Mardi Gras party for Covington Rotary during the Olympia Parade on Saturday, February 7th, at Campbell's Coffee & Tea, an excellent location for parade viewing. This family-friendly event will also be an early celebration of the 110th birthday of Rotary (Feb 23, 1905).
