How to Propose a New Rotary Member

  • Talk with someone you’d like to invite to join Metro Rotary, and have her/him be your guest for at least one (preferably more than one) Metro meeting.  If she/he is interested in learning more, contact the club president, who will arrange for an orientation session.  Metro purposely conducts an orientation before a new member is proposed so that she/he is fully aware of what a commitment to Rotary and Metro involves.
  • After orientation, when your prospect is ready to proceed, have her/him complete the Membership Application Form (also to be signed by you as the Sponsor), available from the club secretary or downloaded from the link on the left side of this page.
  • Give the completed form to the club president or secretary, who will seek board approval for the proposal.  Upon approval from the board, information about the proposed member will be published to club members, and if no objections are raised within a seven-day period, the applicant becomes a member of Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary Club.
  • The club president will arrange a formal induction at a club meeting at the earliest mutually convenient date.
