Home Page Stories

Metro is hosting two Rotary Youth Exchange students this year: Peer-Jonas Brack from Norden, Germany and Will Wery from Liege, Belgium. Both are attending Lubbock High School. Their first host families are the Pattersons and Morrises.

They are two of the six exchange students in District 5730 this year. Joining them are Anna Just (Denmark) in Perryton, Emma Antoine (France) in Canadian, Kako Sugae (Japan) in Plainview and Clara Bressane (Brazil) in Monahans.

Metrotarians are encouraged to include Will or Peer in their family activities. Providing them with the widest array of cultural experiences is one of the objectives of their year with Metro. Contact their counselor, Phil Houchin, if you want to include them.

On August 29, 2015, Metro was recognized as a 100% Paul Harris Club. District Governor John Scott is seen with President Elyn Patterson presenting the banner from the Rotary Foundation. Well done, Metro!

Welcome to our Rotary Club!

Welcome to the Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary Club. We are one of three clubs in Lubbock, Texas, and the only breakfast club. We meet Friday mornings at 7:00 AM at the Clarion Grand Park Inn. We are an energetic group of professionals that enjoy getting up early to participate as Rotarians. Please take a look at our website and plan to join us for breakfast soon.

On our website, you'll find several links in the right column that will provide more information about Rotary International and our Rotary club. Under "Club Pages" read about Metro's involvement in the community; how we help elementary students develop reading skills, how we serve the elderly in Lubbock by delivering Meals on Wheels, how we honor first responders in Lubbock County and recognize ethical business leaders. Learn about our annual fundraiser, the Apple Butter Festival.

At the top of the page, select "Speakers" to see the outstanding programs for upcoming club meetings.
