Welcome to Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club!

The Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club welcomes Rotarians and other visitors to its Monday meetings. A buffet lunch with salads and hot entrees is open at noon, with the business meeting beginning at 12:20pm. We meet at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa, 5480 Grand Pacific Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008.  The historic gazebo (shown above) is a rehabilitation project of the club and now resides in Magee Park, Carlsbad.

The Club, chartered in February 1980, has nearly 100  members. The membership is very active and committed to the Rotary principle of "Service Above Self."  The club sponsors an energetic Interact Club at Carlsbad High School and each year sends both facilitators and students to the annual RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) conference for high school juniors and the Rotary LEAD symposium for eighth graders. The club sponsors Oktoberfest held the first Saturday in October in Holiday Park, Carlsbad. A traditional family event, this year marks the 32nd anniversary of the Oktoberfest.  Proceeds from Oktoberfest are shared with Carlsbad charities and used by the club for its many local community projects. The club also sponsors an annual Golf Tournament entitled "Teens and Marines" in the summer, with net proceeds used to fund scholarships for graduating high school students and for U.S. Marines continuing their educations at MiraCosta College.  This tournament has raised approximately $280,000 in its 11-year history.

Additionally, the club also supports the AVID program at Carlsbad High School with a business and ethics conference, a literacy project at Jefferson Elementary School, the Carlsbad Educational Foundation, Hospice of the North Coast, The Assistance League-North Coast, Casa de Amparo, the North County Food Bank, the Veterans Association of North County, La Posada, Stand Up for Kids, the Carlsbad Boys and Girls Club, the Women's Resource Center and the CHS Music Festival.

If YOU are interested in working with fellow professionals to provide community service, you are invited to read the application materials and contact Patty Johnson, Membership Chairman, at Patty@CarlsbadEd.org.

Each year a variety of professionals discover Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary thereby adding to our membership.  Hi-Noon Rotary is a place where, working together, our members give back to the local and international communities through hands-on projects and (we put the "fun" in) fundraising.  "Service Above Self" is not just a Rotary International motto--it is a fact of life in this club.  Please read the membership materials identified on the top left corner of the home page on this website and contact our Membership Chairperson Patty Johnson to answer your questions.  Johnson's contact information is 760.845.8938 or Patty@CarlsbadEd.org.  She will be able to answer your questions and invite you to one of the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary meetings held at the Sheraton Carlsbad at noon on Mondays (except federal holidays).

Oktoberfest and Brewfest
‚ÄčTeam Leaders report that the club has completed another very successful Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 4, followed by a very successful, first annual, Brewfest on Sunday, October 5.  Both events were held in Holiday Park, and even with the warm weather attendance was good.   Phil Urbina praised all the many club members, friends, relatives, etc who helped make these events so special.  More details in the Hi-Jinx.
