Marin Headland Runs : Living For the Game Scholarship Tribute to Eloi Vasquez

The Eloi Vasquez Marin Headlands Memorial Run and Walk

Come honor a remarkable young man whose training on these very trails brought him so much joy.

Date: Saturday June 10, 2017
Time: 8:00am
Location: Golden Gate National Recreational Area, Marin Headlands
Participants: 400 competitive and non-competitive runners and walkers
Cost: $75 for adults and $50 for children (a portion of the fee is tax deductible)

This memorial event honors Eloi Vasquez (1995-2015), a lifelong Marin resident, Mill Valley SC and Marin FC soccer standout, and UC Berkeley student-athlete. Eloi was tragically killed in a car accident in southern California on March 28, 2015. All proceeds from this annual event support the Eloi Vasquez “Living for the Game” scholarship fund, a grant annually awarded to male and female youth soccer players that embody Eloi’s dedication to family, strength of character, commitment to personal growth and academics, and passion for the game.

This family-friendly event is open to the public and will “kick off” at the Fort Barry Parade Grounds near beautiful Rodeo Beach in Sausalito. There are three course options for runners and walkers:

6 mile competitive run
6 mile non-competitive run or walk
2.1 mile lagoon stroll

All participants receive a limited edition “Eloi” t-shirt designed exclusively for the event. Prizes will be awarded to winners in the competitive bracket.
