Laura's Trip East
**NEW** Laura's Update from New York (click image above for slide show)
Dear Mt. Bachelor Rotary Club!
On Monday I returned from a great trip on the East coast. I had to leave the trip early so I could come home and be ready for Mexico so I missed the last highlight, Gettysburg, but I got to see New York and Boston. And it was AMAZING! New York is definitely the coolest city I've ever been to and I loved walking around the streets and feel the spirit and life of the city. We had some free time which I spent on seeing the 9/11 memorial, visit China Town and little Italy, explore Times Square and the Rockefeller Center. The view from up there was amazing!
Boston was great too, I really enjoy the city and how European it looks. It almost made me feel like Denmark.
Tomorrow morning we are traveling to Mexico, which I'm really exited for! I have never been so far South before and I'm sure it's going to be a tremendous experience, and I feel so fortunate that I get to go.
Have a fantastic Spring Break!
We have had some great days in Washington DC and we saw all the highlights such as The White House, Capitol, Washington monument and Mount Vernon. The weather was great and yesterday it was sunny and above 60 degrees. It is so much fun being with the other exchange students and exploring the east coast together. Today we are heading to New York where we are going to see Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty and time square. I am sooooo exited!!
I'm really having a blast and I hope all you in Mount Bachelor Rotary are doing good as well.
See you soon!
Meet Laura Schutz-Christensen, our newest exchange student, from Slagelse, Denmark, which is 100 kilometers from Copenhagen. Laura is 17 years old and has been involved in gymnastics her entire life. She also loves politics, and served an internship in the National Parliament of Denmark. During her exchange, Laura hopes to meet a lot of people, experience the differences of living in the U.S. and be a good ambassador for Denmark. Click here to see Laura cheering for her high school!
