Salvation Army Kettle Campaign

Facts about the Salvation Army, and particularly the Seguin unit, which might be helpful in securing volunteers for this important endeavor.

• After a humble beginning 150 years ago, The Salvation Army now serves 127 countries worldwide.

• In 1880, the first official delegation of The Salvation Army arrived in America. Today, as the only charity to offer services in every ZIP code in the United States, it now serves more than 30 million Americans every year.

• The Seguin Unit is known locally as the “go to” resource for offering financial assistance with utility bills and rent, food, temporary housing, and disaster relief assistance for the entire county.

• The annual Christmas Kettle Campaign is a MAJOR funding source for the Seguin Unit.  In 2020, the almost $36,000 raised through the Kettle Campaign was a little less than half of its annual budget.

• The Seguin Unit relies totally on volunteers for the Kettle Campaign.
