Our weekly meetings would not be complete without expert commentary from our own President Elect John Legris. Since we are practicing social distancing during COVID-19 restrictions we are not able to have our regular Show Low drawing. President Elect John continues to share with us some of his and his wife Chihiro's favorite wines from their wine cellar. Ken Ruiz attempted to bid on the wine presented but was unsuccessful.  Thank you President Elect John for always providing interesting and entertaining information from the vast world of wine! Who knew that when he joined our club he would be such a resource? We have interesting and talented members here at Oak Hills Rotary Club!

Since Ken Ruiz was unsuccessful in achieving a bidding war on John's wine he thoughtfully brought up auctioning the Umbrella.  No one has owned the umbrella since we last met at Outback Steakhouse.  A rousing bidding war ensued between Joe Montagna and Secretary Mary Denton!  In a bit of friendly rivalry Mary won the umbrella for the month of May with her winning $100 bid. Secretary Mary is a REALTOR with Keller Williams Realty City View.  She will be sharing updates about the local real estate market. When asked, she said that "the San Antonio area is still in a severe housing shortage (meaning available homes for sale) and interest rates are still at historical lows. Now is a good time to sell a home and also to buy a home."
