Derek wielded the umbrella with authority this week!  He shared these gems with us:
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.
Always remember that you're unique - just like everyone else.
The elevator to success is out of order.  You'll have to use the stairs.
You're born free, then you're taxed to death.
I get enough exercise pushing my luck.
You can't have everything - where would you put it?
Experience is a wonderful thing - it enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side.

Derek remains fine free during the time he owns the umbrella!

Ken Donoughue reported that he, Marlene Mattox and Gloria Richter are now reading to the children at Locke Hills Elementary's Learning Tree!  To find out more about this program and to register follow this link:  The Learning Tree
Ken reminded us not to forget that NISD Storyfest 2019 will be on May 18 from Noon til 3 p.m. at Pat Neff Middle School, 5227 Evers Rd. 78238. It promises to be a day of fun activities including a visit from author Jonathan Auxier as well as some local authors!
Thank you Ken, Marlene and Gloria for "giving back" to the community and for making a difference in children's lives!
