Our Inbound exchange student in 2005 was Flemming Skibsted from the town of Ryslinge Denmark whom Rob and Maureen hosted. Such was the relationship that they have been invited to Flemming's marriage to Jamille in late June this year. So Rob turned his attention to the the Rotary Club of Ry, Denmark for his international toast. The Club is in Rotary District 1450 and was chartered on 8 June 1963. It has forty seven (47) members led by President Kirsten Halskov Madsen and they meet at the Hotel Ry, Kyhnsvej 2, Ry on Wednesdays at 6pm. Their focus is on international projects and as well as supporting End Polio Now, Rotarians Against Malaria and Shelterbox,  two of their own projects are in Uganda where they donated $29,000 to a health clinic in Mbale and $116,000 to a health clinic in Mt Elgon to supply solar panels and batteries for 24 hour lighting. They raise much of their money through raffles which are very well supported by the Ry community and a film about the projects. Raffle prizes have included cars.
