Hearty congratulations to Simon Cubitt for his richly deserved Paul Harris Fellow Award (PHF) presented to him by District Governor Robyn (pictured below). You'll know Simon well. He's the photogenic fellow who features regularly on our story page.

Simon Cubitt threw himself into the role of Youth Director in 2014 and quickly forged a strong working relationship with Willetton Senior High School (WSHS), a bond which under his guidance grows stronger every year. He is so successful in the role which he has held for the last five (5) years on top of all his other Rotary commitments.  Witness to that is his continued very active support of the WSHS Awards to be held at the Club on 19 November this year; his current very active search for 18-28 year old candidates to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) in January 2019 which extends to an invitation to the Esther Foundation; support for deserving (and particularly the financially disadvantaged) students to participate in the Leeuwin Ocean Adventure and thereby earn credit towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award; and the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) for which this year, the Club has successfully sponsored four students.

When the Club was in a tight spot in early 2015 in need of a President, Simon brought forward his intention to lead the Club by twelve (12) months and presided over a very successful period through 2015/16 and 2016/17.

After standing down as President, Simon assumed the role of Chair for the Willetton Rotary Community Fair and continues to be one of the busiest Rotarians in the Club.

Despite the tremendous energy and time Simon devotes to our Club, he has also found time to coordinate the Rotary WA Driver Education programme for our District. It is therefore a great pleasure to recognise Simon's very significant contribution with the award of a Paul Harris Fellowship.
