Ann is Fremantle born and bred. She has played many sports at the elite level. Growing up as a girl in a street full of boys she was a proficient cricketer and footballer as she was a tomboy. Football is in her blood,  as her family are founding members of south Fremantle Football Club and she has others who have played VFL and AFL. So naturally Ann barracks for Fremantle (poor thing)
As a teenager Ann coached and played netball and softball as well as being a State athlete. In fact, Dixie Willis asked her parents if she could coach her because she felt she could become an Australian champion.

Alas! Her parents said no so she went on at high school and eventually trained as a teacher at Claremont Teachers College. She taught in Kalgoorlie as her first appointment and from there married a Kalgoorlie boy and later divorced him. Not wanting to be a classroom teacher all her working life Ann applied for merit promotion as a Deputy Principal and went to Carnarvon. She at this stage of her career was one of the youngest Deputies in the state.

After Carnarvon Ann moved into Willetton and served at many hard to teach schools. She has lived in Willetton for many years and did a teacher exchange to Ontario Canada ( she now hates snow and cold temperatures such as -26C with a wind chill factor of -50C.brrr)

Ann has accomplished much in her career. She served on the State Council of the State School Teachers Union for many years and has been a social justice coordinator ensuring gender equity for girls.. She has been the President of the West Australian Teachers Exchange group. Other community things she has been involved in are tennis committee member, dog show committee member and coaching netball at A grade level as well as gaining a level 2 Netball coaching.

Now Ann is retired and lives with her loveable Pembroke Welsh Corgis which she shows. She has travelled extensively in the last few years and this is how she met Les and Marilyn Woodland who introduced her to the club. She is glad they did and hope she will enjoy the camaraderie and friendship of this group.
