Tonight we toast the Rotary Club of North Conway, New Hampshire, USA. It's an attractive resort style town located in the White Mountain Range in Central New Hampshire (NH). NH itself is in the middle of the New England area below Quebec, Canada. Darlene and I visited the town about a month ago whilst on a six week tour of Eastern Canada and North Eastern USA. To the west is the state of Vermont, the east is Maine and the south is Massachusetts where Boston is located on the coast. North Conway offers snow sports during the winter months and hiking/kayaking/fishing in the summer. The town is also famous for its covered over bridges across rivers and streams.

The Rotary Club of North Conway was chartered in 1927 and its President is Robert Young. They meet for breakfast every Thursday morning. The Club’s existence is integral to the community activities. We noticed many gardens, statues, park benches and plagues along the main street as evidence of a high profile in the town. The Club has all the usual structures and appears to have a strong focus on youth including mental health and sport. It raises about CAD$40,000 pa from two main events - Ravenous Raffle and Radio Auction.
