PDG PUSHA TOASTS THE ROTARY CLUB OF IPOH

Pushpa chose the Rotary Club of Ipoh, Malaysia. He chose it for his toast because it is from this the third largest city in Malaysia, that his wife, Mahes, comes. The Club is in Rotary International District 3300, (which also covers Singapore and Sabah) and is the third oldest in Malaysia being chartered on 18th January 1930. They meet every Thursday for a luncheon meeting at the Royal Ipoh Club. Some illustrious and notable Rotarians of the Club are immortalised in street names such as, Ashby, Raja Bendahara, Chung Ah Ming, Khong Kam Tak, Labrooy, Lau Ek Ching and Cecil Rae. Ipoh Club has been involved in many key projects including the establishment of the Salvation Army Boy’s Home, the Senior Citizens Club of Ipoh, the Perpustakkaan Tun Razak Ipoh, formation of the School for Mentally Retarded Children, and the Annual Inter-school debates which have been going on for the last fifty (50)years.
