From The President-Hands Across The World

The Club has been a great supporter of Hands Across The World (HTW) and following a series of meetings in Perth over the weekend, the CEO Cindy Debes kindly agreed to be our guest speaker. We report on this below and in the meantime, I'm delighted to say that the Board agreed to continue our support and donate another $2,000 to help further the very valuable work HTW do.

And From Rob Webster- A Toast To The Rotary Club Of Osnabruk Germany

Our guest speaker Cindy Debes hails from Germany so Rob Webster drew on his (long) bow and went in search of a German Rotary Club to toast. His point of reference was the town of Oldendorf from whence past exchange student, Laura Bernt, came. The nearest Club was in Osnabrück, which was chartered 19 November 1951. It's in Rotary International District 1850, has seventy four (74) members and is led by President Peter Meyer. They sponsor a Rotaract Club and organise career orientation for students plus scholarships (similar to our Club's Pat Moylan Memorial Trust) and are very involved with assistance to refugees. The Club meets on Mondays at 1.15pm  and every last Monday at 7 pm, at the Hotel Remarque, Natruper-Tor-Wall 1; 49076 Osnabrück,
