At our breakfast meeting on Tuesday 30th  June, Chris Whelan led the discussion on the modified Applecross Rotary 'The Way Forward'  document that was tabled for endorsement.

The original document was endorsed when Murray McKay was president in 2013/2014 and updated in 2016 when Chris Whelan was president.

Chris took the meeting through the document and highlighted the minor changes as follows:
  1. OUR VISION - no changes - endorsed
  2. THE CLUB'S VALUES - Chris highlighted the reference to diversity and flexible membership opportunities that will enable a wide range of people and groups to get involve with the club. - endorsed
  3. CLUB EXPECTATIONS OF MEMBERS and MEMBERS' EXPECTATIONS OF THE CLUB - endorsed.
  4. STATEGIC FRAMEWORKS - Chris commented as follows -
    • we can review the top end of 50 members as referred to under membership once we get close to this number.
    • minor change to reference to meeting times in that we are primarily a breakfast club  however have the flexibility to meet at other times as opportunities arise.
    • reference to using funds in a timely manner ensures the club does not accumulate the monies raised.
    • the addition under Community Service to recognise our major project 'One Health' and supporting AMR Aware.
    • addition of PUBLIC IMAGE and ROTARY FOUNDATION.
Chris summarised by saying that the "value of the document  is as much to show to prospective members and  to any outsiders who are interested in Rotary, because it is the envelope within which we use to move forward".
