Thomas Murrell MBA CSP is a multi-award-winning broadcaster, international business speaker, author, company director and art collector. It will be centred on The Rise at Maylands, just off Guildford Rd. Local Maylands RC are a key to hosting the event which is all about promoting the good work of Rotary in WA., but is an initiative of our DG Ineke Oliver. 2. The day will commence with a walk to local parklands as a Walk for Mental Health, arranged and managed by that group. It will commence at around 8am, and conclude at The Rise by around 10am. 3. In the grounds of The Rise, which is a wonderful community facility, will be a number of interactive displays with Not for Profit groups that RWA clubs support. Wheel Chairs for Kids and FoodBank are two early starters, with a maximum of 8-10 involved. This will run from around 10 am until about 1pm. 4. A series of Rotary based seminars will commence at 1.30pm, running til 3.30. This will be held The Rise with topics of interest to all of us in Rotary. 5. An International Dinner will conclude the day, hosted at The Rise, and hoping to attract around 200 to enjoy a range of international flavours. The cost is to be kept around $50/h. |

Telethon Speech & Hearing Institute
May 07, 2024 7:30 am
Mark is CEO Telethon Speech and Hearing Institute and he’ll be talking about teaching kids with little or no hearing, how to read. Deafness is endemic in children from the Eastern Wheatbelt. Most of the deafness is technically preventable so even if we can start reducing the numbers with poor hearing, there remains the challenge of working with those kids who are already deaf, who need to learn to read. |
