Nevada City Rotarians hosted an End Polio Now Walk-About downtown Nevada City on Saturday, October 22nd in celebration of World Polio Day.  Concurrent wt\ith the Nevada City Farmers Market on Union Street, we set up an End Polio Now table in front of the Firehouse Museum next to Treats as we have done in recent years.

Wearing End Polio Now T-Shirts, members took turns on a walk-about down Broad Street and through the market (mindful that solicitation in the Market is strictly prohibited) while others staffed the table.

Big thanks to Judy Soldavini, Carolyn Feuille, Paul Boch, Walt Stickel, Tom Ryan, Ken Ching, Tom Milam, Cathy Wilcox-Barnes, and Robin Milam for representing our club and of course, to Cathy for her every delicious cookies for both Rotarians and those who stopped by our table.

World Polio Day as important as ever

On World Polio Day, October 24, Rotary and its partners will recognize the progress we've made against polio. Rotary members are encouraged to watch new World Polio Day 2022 videos on endpolio.org and Rotary's social media to learn where the Global Polio Eradication Initiative stands in our fight against this disease. Read a statement on recent polio detections on My Rotary. For World Polio Day, we’re asking members to continue raising awareness of the importance of polio eradication and Rotary’s critical role in this effort, to plan events and fundraisers, and to consider making a personal donation. Learn how you can get involved at endpolio.org.
