A Miracle Coming to Orleans!!!
The Rotary Club of Ottawa has joined the Miracle League, the City of Ottawa and the greater Ottawa community and other Ottawa-area Rotary clubs to build the first fully-accessible baseball diamond and children's play centre in our capital city -- a $900,000 project. Representing the Rotary Club of Ottawa at the kick-off ceremony on November 9 were (above from left) Miao Tsai, Angela Wellman (president) and Nabil Oudeh.
The Miracle League provides children, young adults and adults with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball on a purpose-built Miracle Field, a custom-designed field equipped with a cushioned rubberized surface to help prevent injuries. The field may also include wheelchair accessible dugouts and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players.
