The AIM Volunteer project is in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids at their South Unit/1st Congregational Church (361 17th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa  52403 Office: 319-350-3759). This project encourages Club members to improve their attitudes (both in school and at the Club) and to make a difference in the community by being involved and helping others.

We have worked closely with the Boys and Girls Club counselors to create a program that will allow for a 'one-on-one' approach between the students and Metro North members. Each month there will be a specified activity and at the end of your time with the student you will be able to leave them with a report card of sorts to let your student know what they did well and what you enjoyed about your time with them. Rather than having award ceremonies at the beginning of each meeting, we will have an award ceremony at the end of the year awarding students based performance with us throughout the year.

January Activity: The Big Book Battle

Each volunteer will have a student read to them as as many books as they can in 20 minutes- everyone will enjoy an ice cream bar after.

*If you are able to attend, please try to be there no later than 4:10 as students will be assigned a member first to start the activity.
