To whom it may concern,

I am the clinical educator for physiotherapy and medical students at Macquarie University and as part of the program our first year students visit a volunteer in the community who have any medical condition/s.

The students visit the volunteers either at home or can arrange to meet them at the university and visit as a pair. They would see their volunteers approximately 4 times across the semester starting at the end of August.

The students practice skills they are learning in class such as taking a medical history, talking to their volunteer about their previous or current interactions/experiences with healthcare and practice basic assessment measures.

We wondered if any of your members would be interested in being volunteers for this program? If so I have attached the FAQs for the program as well as the Expression of Interest Form if they wanted to be involved. We call any interested people to discuss the program and answer any questions. I would also love to be able to come along to any meetings that you run to recruit volunteers if this was appropriate. The online Expression of Interest is at the following link: https://mqedu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_2gBZ3i7QBSGjWIJ

As part of the program the students also get involved with some volunteering opportunities in the community themselves particularly if it relates to healthcare. If you had any suggestions for this we would also be interested.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Kind Regards

Jacque.
